I’m delighted: Piaa Bajpai
A smile on actress Piaa Bajpai’s face is always a given but then, only this time, it seems a little wider and brighter.
Admits the Goa girl excitedly, “Yes, I’m not just happy, I’m delighted. Especially, with the compliments that are coming my way from those who have witnessed my work in K V Anand’s Ko.”
The actress, who plays a hot and happening, working girl in Ko, is particularly pleased with the way her character has shaped up in the film, which also stars Jiiva and Karthika.

The credit, she says, will go to several people, including her director K V Anand and her scriptwriters, Suresh and Bala (better known as Suba), who, incidentally, have also now become her good friends.
Says the actress, on her new-found friends in the industry, “Usually, once scriptwriters finish their work, they don’t come to the sets while shooting is on. However, for Ko, both Suresh and Bala would be present on the sets, ready to help anybody in need. In fact, after watching my performance in the film, the writers said, ‘We created this character using our imagination, but the way you have done this character has made us fall in love with it.”

What seems to have raised Piaa’s expectations from Ko is the fact that apart from a good director handling a nice script, she’s also had talented co-stars, who were helpful.
Commenting on Jiiva, she says, “Jiiva is a hardworking person. In fact, he’s an inspiration. He’d explain the whole scene to me and also the meaning of certain Tamil dialogues. There are some people who wouldn’t want to improvise, but Jiiva was always willing to improvise. It’s because of his co-operation that the sequences have come out so well.”
Finally, Piaa sums up with what she thinks the movie will do for her with a statement of K V Anand. Says she, “He told me during this film that I may become a star in the future but very rarely would I get a character like the one that I’d been offered in this film. He said, ‘Take it for granted, people will love you even more after your role in Ko.’”
On The Sets...
We were shooting in the night and Suresh and Bala too were present on the occasion. However, as shooting went on late into the night, the two comfortably settled down in chairs and happily dozed off. Unfortunately, for them, I happened to see them taking a nap and shot their pictures on my mobile. So, from then on, I would keep playfully threatening them that they ensure my character and lines in the film were good or else, I said I would show the producer the pictures. They’d laugh and jokingly reply, ‘Remember, we have to write your lines for you.’
