Idhu Dhaanda Police gets a sequel

Remember the superhit film, Idhu Dhaanda Police, starring Dr Rajashekar in the lead?
The film, which was about the trials and tribulations faced by a police officer , was a trendsetter of sorts. After almost 20 years since its release, the actor is coming out with its sequel, Idhu Dhaanda Police 2, which will be directed by his wife Jeevitha.
The buzz is that while shooting for a highly intense fight, Rajashekar slipped and hurt himself.
A source close to the actor reveals, “We started shooting for the film recently and have completed about 15 days of shoot. We had erected a set of a prison in the city, where an action sequence was to be canned. Rajashekar was supposed to come running and hit the villain. The scene was okayed at the first take, but the actor and Jeevitha wanted to better the shot.
“So, they decided to go for a re-take . But unfortunately , he slipped while running and badly hurt himself. His left leg and right hand got fractured and he had several injuries on his face as well. He had to undergo an operation.”
But the team is unperturbed by this development . The source adds, “Rajashekar was badly injured even while he had shot for the first installment , which went on to become a hit. We think this accident on the sets is an indication that the sequel will also do well at the BO.”
