Bollywood for me... No way: Karthi

While Karthi's at home down south, he wouldn't mind doing a film with his fave director, Vishal Bhardwaj.
Bollywood for me... No way: Karthi
Its been two years since his first film released.
But Karthi says the interest Paruthi Veeran generated hasnt receded yet. Even now, people come up to me and say that they are looking forward to my next film. It pushes me to work harder, says the actor.
Currently shooting for his first romantic flick, Paiyya, Karthi feels the film is a sort of relaunch for him.

Its like getting myself introduced again. Unlike in Paruthi Veeran, its nice to be myself. And its a relief to be normal after wearing all those rags, he laughs.
Moreover, Karthis broken free from shooting in a particular location, as Paiyya is a travel film, which had recently brought him to Mysore. There have been travel films aplenty. But this is unique with only two people on the road, he says, adding, Director Linguswamy has given an urbane touch to the film and has taken care of how Tamannaah and I look in the film. Since I watch all films, I can tell you this is different. It will be a treat for everybody.
When theres romance, there should be some chemistry. So, hows his chemistry with co-star Tamannaah? Directors put two people together and see how they get along. When you relate to a person and are being friendly, its easy to do a scene without looking uncomfortable, he says.
As in Paruthi Veeran, Karthi had to do his own stunts in Paiyya as well. I had to look powerful in Paruthi Veeran. But in this film, I had to be more agile and swift. So, I trained to lose weight. As we had a lot of car chase scenes, it was very interesting, he says.

After Paiyya, Karthis expanding his repertoire with a double role in Siruthai, a remake of the Telugu hit Vikramarkudu. Ive always wanted to do a double role. Its a huge challenge for me. I hope I can justify it, he says.
Ask him whether there are no takers for his other project, Aayirathil Oruvan, and Karthi dismisses the news as baseless. The film isnt completed yet as the graphics work is going on. Though Magadheera and Aayirathil... started at the same time, its taking more time. Its a unique attempt within the norms of a commercial film, while being realistic, he claims.
With him sporting a new look now, will Karthi attempt to follow in his brother Suriyas footsteps to Bollywood? Bollywood? Me? No way. I should get a firm footing here. But Im a big fan of Vishal Bhardwaj. So, lets see if I get to work with him someday, he concludes.
