Dhruv Malik: My song ‘Jhooti’ is best suited for Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ - Exclusive

Singer Dhruv Malik has made it to the music charts with his latest melody ‘Jhooti’. Backed with good lyrics and soothing music the song has tugged at the heartstrings in no time. Talking about the song in an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Dhruv mentioned that he wants to dedicate this song to Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar’. He also spilled the tea on some fun BTS and more.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

The shoot in Moscow

Talking about song, Dhruv mentioned the exotic locations where they shot. “We shot ‘Jhooti’ in Moscow, Russia. However, the fun fact is that a lot of people believe it was shot in London. So as you can see in the video, it was shot in extremely cold weather, and we were not allowed to layer up much, so it was a little hard to shoot. Nevertheless, since the outcome came out so beautiful it was worth it,” said the singer.

BTS moments

“Shooting ‘Jhooti’ was a fun experience. Our female lead in the video neither knew Hindi nor English, so we had a translator on the set. Every time we had to explain something, we needed the translator by the side. So the experience turned out to be fun,” shares Dhruv while he spilled the tea on the BTS moments.

4/5

Working with Simar Kaur

‘Jhooti’ is a duet in which the female vocals have been given by Simar Kaur. Talking about her Dhruv mentioned, “What can I say for Simar Kaur? She is one of the most talented and humble personalities we have in the industry. Her vocal quality, her professionalism, everything is noteworthy. It goes without saying that working with her is an experience of a lifetime.”

From ‘Jhooti’ to ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’

Further, in the conversation, we asked Dhruv if he had to give someone the tag of ‘Jhooti’ to someone, who would that be; he had an amazing answer to that question. “If I had to give the ‘Jhooti’ tag to someone in my life, I would like to give it to one of my exes. Jokes apart, honestly, I guess my song is best suited for Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. “Tu vi baki kudiyan vargi jhooti hi nikli hai,” these lyrics seem to fit Shraddha Kapoor’s character perfectly. So I guess I would like to dedicate this song to the movie.
