Baisakhi special: Pump up the celebration with Bhangra beats

They say Punjabis don’t really need a reason to celebrate, as they believe in living every day like it's a festival. Now think of the time, when they actually have a festival, like Baisakhi. Celebrated every year in April, Baisakhi is one of the prominent festivals of the Sikhs. It marks the birth of Khalsa Panth under Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru. They honour this day with a lot of pomp and show.

Now, what’s Punjabi celebration without Bhangra, right? Here are some of the must-listen Bhangra songs to play on Baisakhi that your dancing soul just can’t resist.
2/7

‘Dhol Jageero Da’

Released in 2013 ‘Dhol Jageero Da’ has always been on every DJ’s playlist. Two musical maestros - Master Saleem and Punjabi MC came together to produce this perfect Bhangra track. So you know what should be your special song when the relatives drag you on the dance floor.
3/7

‘Naag’

Since it’s a day of the festival, let’s spoil you for choice. Sung by the Punjabi pop-star Jazzy B, ‘Naag’ is the song that can compel even a non-dancer to shake a leg. Though the classic song has two more parts with the titles ‘Naag 2’ and ‘Naag Third’ respectively, the feeling that the first track has is still unmatched. Composed by Sukhshinder Shinda, the song is a party starter.
4/7

‘Mitran De Boot’

When you mention Jazzy B, you simply can’t stop at one amazing Bhangra song. Another chart-topping Punjabi Bhangra track by the singing sensation is ‘Mitran De Boot’. Made in collaboration with Dr. Zeus, the song features the sensuous Surveen Chawla, whose part was sung by the famous Kaur B. With her killer dance moves, Surveen just added the right amount of spice needed for the song.
5/7

‘High End’

Not including a Diljit Dosanjh song on Bhangra playlist is nothing short of a sin. Though the Punjabi singer and actor has given countless Bhangra songs, the one that’s making its way to our list is ‘High End’. The recently released song is from Diljit’s amazing album ‘CON.FE.DEN.TIAL’. Diljit’s voice, Snappy’s music and lyrics and composition of Rav Hanjra made the song a chartbuster.
6/7

‘Patake’

Besides Bhangra, if there’s something that Punjabis are truly obsessed with its motorcycles and cars. The song ‘Patake’ sung by the gorgeous Sunanda Sharma sums up the love for the lean-mean machine. With amazing lyrics and great composition, the song features Sunanda doing phenomenal Bhangra. You can really trust her when it comes to dancing like nobody’s watching and her steps are so infectious that even you will throw your hands up in the air.
7/7

‘Khayal’

If you are a newly-wedded couple, then ‘Khayal’ is the song that you can perform on your first Baisakhi celebration. Sung by Mankirat Aulakh, the track has catchy and relatable lyrics along with lovely beats. Even the singletons can pick this song for its brilliant composition. Also, one thing is for sure that no matter how hard you try you simply can’t resist shaking a leg on this song.
