Exclusive! Punjabi celebs share sweet messages and special moments spent with their mother

Mother, this word in itself is so pure, selfless and filled with love that it makes you feel overwhelmed every time you hear it. And believe us, this term holds the same worth in everyone one’s life, be it an ordinary man or a celebrity. Today, on Mother’s Day, we had an exclusive chat with the leading Punjabi celebrities and they opened up about their most memorable moments spent with their mother. Also, they shared some beautiful message on the very day.

Neeru Bajwa

Pollywood queen Neeru Bajwa has won hearts not just as an actress, but as a lovely mother and a doting daughter. Here’s what she had to say on this special day, “I celebrate being a mom and my mother every day but this one day we get to really spoil each other and get spoiled. After becoming a mother I realized what a selfless person you become. So, thank you, mom, for being my mom.”

3/7

Rubina Bajwa

Generally, people undermine the blessing of watching their mom every day as they wake up, but Rubina Bajwa exactly knows the worth of the same. Thus, even after moving to Mumbai for work, she makes sure that the first person whom she sees in the morning is her mother. “Since I’ve moved to Mumbai, every morning I start my day with my mom on FaceTime. She makes sure she calls me every day. I cherish those phone calls. My mom and I are best friends. Every time I hang out with her or am with her I feel the happiest.” the actress said.

Kavita Kaushik

They say that the first word that comes out of kid’s mouth is ‘Maa’, but Kavita Kaushik’s first word was ‘Bua’, and here’s the tale behind it, “The first word that came out of my mouth was “bua”, my own mother had a lot of responsibilities of her sisters and brothers living with us and because of that despite being an only child my childhood was always crowded; however, my bua Hem took me in her hands when I was just born and loved me like her own.”

“This Mother’s Day, I want to acknowledge all those women who have not only loved another child selflessly but also defined motherhood in an inspiring manner. The fondest memory I have of my bua Hem is the summer holidays I would spend visiting them at IMA Dehradun where my fufaji was posted as a colonel. My bua taught me to swim, to horse ride and to cook finest gourmet cuisine. She at a very early age made me realise that women can and should be both a warrior in the outside world and a calm queen at home who is a bomb at running the house as well. There is no department that my bua cannot handle brilliantly and she has the energy of an entire army even at this age. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and more to those women who have been silent mothers.”

Monica Gill

Monica Gill who today is counted among the most graceful actresses of the industry, says that she learned this art from her mother. Here’s her special message on this lovely day, “To all the wonderful mothers of the world, today is the day that we celebrate everything you’ve done for us. As children, we often take you for granted but without you, we wouldn’t exist. To my mom, you were my first example of what a woman should be like - royal, graceful, and enduring. If I could be even tenth of the woman you are, I’d have achieved more than enough in this life. Thank you for allowing me to be your daughter. Happy Mother’s Day!”

Binnu Dhillon

Binnu Dhillon who is known to make everyone literally roll on the floor with his comedy will make you feel all sentimental when once you will know about the fondest memory he shared with us of his mother. “Though every moment shared with my mother is close to my heart, the incident that I would like to share is the one from my childhood when my mother was the headmaster of our school. I was very young at that point and had no clue of what’s wrong or right. I with a bunch of other kids bunked the school once and completely forgot that my cycle was still there in school’s parking. When my mother came to know about the same, she said to other teachers that it would not make the right impression if even teachers’ kids will bunk; thus, they should punish me and they did the same. When I was being punished, my mother was looking at me from a distance, and I could see the tears rolling down from her eyes. That was the moment I released that though she was the one who asked the teachers to punish me, the tears in her eyes state that she simply can’t see me in pain. Later, she came up to me and explained with teary eyes that it is not right to bunk school and I should never do it again.”

7/7

Karamjit Anmol

Another actor of Punjabi cinema, Karamjit Anmol who is famous for his comedy, also touched our hearts while speaking about his mother, Late Smt. Murti Kaur. Karamjit narrated the most valuable lesson his mother taught him and said, “Ëvery moment shared with my mother is memorable, as this bond that she had with us was so pure and selfless. However, one thing that I can never forget about my mom, is the lesson she taught me when I was a little kid and she used to take us to the village fare. She always used to say that be sure not to steal anything from the fare because if you will do so, I will have my last breath at the very moment. The virtue of honesty and hard work is what she gave me. She taught me if you want to achieve anything in life, achieve it with your hard work and honesty, not with any short cut or false practice. This lesson I have passed on even to my kids and will take it to my own grave.”
