3 Punjabi female debuts to look forward to in 2023
2023 is shaping up as an incredible year for Punjabi cinema and cine lovers. On the one hand, where we have filmmakers taking risks to dive into different genres and actor showing faith in new concepts, on the other hand, we have fresh untapped talent making its way to the world of Pollywood. This year we will be witnessing not one or two, but three new female faces working as the lead in some of the highly anticipated movies. And those three faces are - Pari Pandher, Mahira Sharma and Baani Sandhu.
Pari Pandher
Pari Pandher is a Punjabi singer who has been known for her songs like ‘Sheesha’, ‘Dil Te’, ‘Star’ and more. She has quite a fan following in the Punjabi music scene and now she wishes to win hearts in the world of cinema as well. She will be seen making her debut opposite Ammy Virk in the upcoming romantic drama ‘Annhi Dea Mazaak Ae’. The film has been written and directed by Rakesh Dhawan and it will be hitting the big screen on April 21, 2023.
Mahira Sharma
Mahira Sharma ruled the small screen for quite some time and then she started acting in Punjabi songs as well. Her songs like ‘Bhabhi’, ‘Lehenga’, ‘Gal Karke’ and many more hooked the fans in no time. Now after the Punjabi songs, she will be seen in the Punjabi movie - ‘LehemberGini’. Mahira will be seen working with Ranjit Bawa in the film, which is slated to release on 12 May 2023. The first look poster of the same is out and it is all things adorable.
Baani Sandhu
The ‘8 Parche’ fame singer Baani Sandhu will also be seen making her debut in the Punjabi film industry this year. Now generally people look for something light, to begin with, and are drawn a little toward glam roles for their debut, but this is not the case with Baani. She is going to start her acting career in Punjab with ‘Medal’ which is touted to be an action thriller. Starring opposite Jayy Randhawa, Baani will be seen in a de-glam role.
The film is slated to be released on June 2, 2023.
