A new action-comedy short film with survival horror elements, titled
Hotspot has release on YouTube this Christmas.
Set in abandoned locations across Kolkata, including Barasat, the story follows an amateur filmmaker and his small crew who head out to shoot a short film. What begins as a routine project soon takes a dangerous turn when the group is attacked by zombies. Trapped and under threat, the crew must fight to survive as their shoot turns into a real-life struggle.
Directed by Pritam Dutta, the film marks a shift from his earlier work. “This project is different from my previous films. I approached it in a new way and treated it as an experiment,” he says.

The lead role is played by Ayan Bose, who is also the film’s producer. Bose, who has acted in several short and feature films including
Ugraaa, says the shoot was an enjoyable experience. “There was a lot of fun while shooting, and I hope the audience enjoys this new kind of short film during the holiday season,” he says. He has also won a Best Actor award at the Indian Short Cinema Film Festival.
The cast also includes Pritam Das, Sushan Saha and Baishik.
The short film has been presented by Bhairaava Film Productions, and aims to present a different take on the short film format while highlighting new voices from the independent film space.
