Not only is she directing and producing the film, but she has also written it. The film shows, a dysfunctional mother-daughter duo venture out on what might be the mother's last day alive. Nisheeta Keni's directorial vision

The Marathi film 'Bogda' that marks Nisheeta Keni's directorial debut will see her explore the bond between a mother and her daughter in a unique way. The filmmaker has directed several short films during her studies in filmmaking and scriptwriting, before venturing into Marathi cinema to make her first feature film.

The reason behind the title 'Bogda'

According to the director, there are three reasons why she titled her film 'Bogda'. Nisheeta Keni said, "Firstly the film is about a road trip film in Maharashtra that has across many tunnels along the way. Secondly, I have heard people come across this "near-death experience" whenever they come out of a tunnel, they experience this complete darkness and then light on the other side. And the third reason is that its more of a passage, where you forget your past experiences and move towards new beginnings." The film promises to be a visual treat, shot at scenic locations in Maharashtra.

Mrunmayee Deshpande

Mrunmayee Deshpande has already had two releases this year ('Shikari' and 'Farzand'), and now she is gearing up for the release of Nisheeta Keni’s 'Bogda'. Commenting on Mrunmayee's role, Nisheeta said, "We were looking for a protagonist and that role is played by Mrunmayee Deshpande. We wanted someone who is trained at Indian classical dance and also teaches other. Mrunmayee is one of those who has that passion for dance as she has trained in Indian classical dance since childhood and she is also a fantastic actress".

After sporting simple looks for her movies like 'Natsamrat', 'Mokala Swas', 'Agnihotra', she is set to transform into a glam doll for this one.

5/6

Vishal Dadlani's music

Vishal Dadlani is a versatile musician who composes, sings as well as writes lyrics. Recently, the maker of ‘Bogda’ released the song 'Banjaara' that offers a glimpse at the film and a background of Mrunmayee Deshpande's character in the movie. This will be Dadlani's latest Marathi song after 'Daru Ding Dang' from the film ‘Dry Day’.

6/6

The ensemble ‘Bogda’ cast

'Bogda' will see an ensemble star cast including veteran actress Suhas Joshi as Mai. Gushing about the actress, the director said, " Suhas is playing the role of a mother. She is very expressive, be it in comedy or tragic scene. The switch in her character is very interesting to watch."

The supporting cast will also feature Rohit Kokate as Kishor, Mrinmayee Deshpande as Tejaswini, Jayant Gadekar as Bulldog, and Ajinkya Bhosale as Sachin. With the cast like this, one can expect their money's worth.
