It is going to be a memorable year for Tanuja. The yesteryear actress will get two lifetime achievement awards in 2014. She has also been winning accolades for the Marathi film 'Pitruroon', which is based on a story written by IT industrialist Narayan Murthy's wife Sudha Murty. Tanuja, who says that she identifies with the character, plays a widow in the film.
The role required her to tonsure her head. 'It is a very good role and I identified with it because I know a person' I understood where this character, this woman came from. Despite having suffered so much loss in her life, she is still a happy person. She loves her son and doesn't want to talk about her past,' says Tanuja.
The actress also identifies with the character, perhaps because she doesn't believe in dwelling in the past either. 'I believe in looking forward rather than thinking about the past mistakes and glories,' she says.
