Nilesh Jalamkar's hit Marathi films you should not miss

Nilesh Jalamkar is an Indian actor and director, who works primarily in the Marathi film industry. He made his directorial debut with the 2010 film ‘Debu’. Nilesh’s other directorial credits include movies like ‘Mahanayak Vasant Tu’ ‘Nagpur Adhiveshan’ and ‘Aasud’. Jalamkar's films are known for their technical nuances and fantasy concepts and he is one of the few Indian filmmakers who have made successful films in the fantasy genre. Below are some of the hit movies of the director that should not be missed.

'Debu'

Nilesh Jalamkar began his directorial career with the groundbreaking Marathi film 'Debu' (2010) based on the life of Sant Gadge Maharaj. A popular saint from Maharashtra that he was, Gadgebaba offered his selfless service to mankind to bring in the desired changes in the society. Film 'Debu' will be the biggest tribute to the karmaveer of Maharashtra. Mohan Joshi plays the lead role of Gadgebaba in this film. The other artistes of the film are Ravindra Berde, Ravi Patwardhan, Madhu Kambikar, Bharat Ganeshpure, Ashwini Ekbote & Rupali Bhosale. There are 178 artistes from Vidarbha who are part of this film. Nilesh has penned the story of this blockbuster film.

'Nagpur Adhiveshan'

A Nilesh Raosaheb Jalamkar directorial, this movie featured Chandrakant Meher, Makrand Anaspure, Bharat Ganeshpure, Mohan Joshi, Ajinkya Deo, Vinit Bhonde, Sankarshan Karahade, Dipali Jagtap, Chetan Dalvi, Amol Tale and Sneha Chavhan. The film is about the political situation of Maharashtra. The film focuses on employees meeting the demands of the visiting elected representatives. Ajinkya Deo, as Prataprao, has played his role extremely well. This political drama deserves a watch.

'Mahanayak Vasant Tu'

A Nilesh Raosaheb Jalamkar directorial, this biopic starred Chinmay Mandlekar as Vasantrao Naik, Nisha Parulekar, Ravi Patwardhan, Bharat Ganeshpure, Prakash Dhotre, Jayraj Nair, Ashish Kulkarni, Jayant Patrikar, Satish Phadke and Yayati Rajwade. This story is based on the life journey of Vasantrao Naik, his political career, his childhood etc. Chinmay has done complete justice to the character he played in the film. This one surely deserves a watch.

'Aasud'

Nilesh Jalamkar's directorial 'Aasud' throws light on the farmers' issues and the corrupt system. It opens with leading man Amitriyaan Ami playing the character titled Shivaji Patil, who is seen fighting for farmers against the system. The movie features multi starrer actors including Amitriyaan Ami, Vikram Gokhale, Pradip Welankar, Madhav Abhyankar, Anant Jog, Dipak Shirke, Kamlesh Sawant, Sandesh Jadhav, Upendra Date, Avtaar Gill, Rana Jaungbahadur, and Rashmi Rajput. The film is high on action and an undoubtedly gripping tale of the current time.
