Ask her why did she choose Marathi as a launch vehicle for her production dreams, and Pune-Gujju gal Renu says: 'I'm a Marathi at heart. Being born and brought up in Pune, Marathi is one language that is the closest to my heart! So, there was no question of making a film in any other language! Moreover, I think I'm blessed to enter the industry at a time when so many amazing things are happening in this particular genre. There is some superlative work being done here, which is being recognized not just on national level, but also on various international platforms. So, I guess, my entry has happened at the right time!'
And has she ever faced any bias from her male counterparts in Marathi film industry? Without a moment's hesitation, Renu replies: 'Not at all! In fact, I have got only support and help from my co-stars and the entire film fraternity. Everything happened in such a smooth manner and now I'm all set to work on my next two films. It is clear that women filmmakers face no bias, unlike in Bollywood, which is completely a male-dominated world!'
