Marathi films Aamhi Doghi and Dhappa to be screened at IFFI 2018
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2018 is all set to roll out from November 20 that is going to take place in Goa. The 49 th edition of the Film Festival showcases films of different genres and languages. This year the film festival will open with the World Premier of James Ivory’s film The Aspern Papers. This year the film festival will showcase 212 films from over 68 countries.

While 212 films are going to be screened from across the country, two of Marathi feature films have also made a way to the International Film Festival of India this year. Films Aamhi Doghi and Dhappa have made it to the screening this year for the feature film category.
Directed by Pratima Joshi, the film Aamhi Doghi is story about two women Savitri played by Priya Bapat and Amala by Mukta Barve and the beautiful relationship they share in today’s time whilst dealing with realist situations and relationships. The film is based on an adaptation of short story Paus Ala Motha written by Gauri Deshpande.
The second film being screened is that of director Nipun Dharmadhikari. Directed by him, the film Dhappa is about the current social scenario and how a group of kids go beyond discrimination and unite to make a difference in the society. The film was released in February 2018 and also won Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration for Nipun Dharmadhikari’s directorial debut in a feature category.
