Ajinkya says, Good roles are being scripted for mid-age actors today. I think they are being pulled up as they have aged well and scripts have become real.
With plans to yet again direct a Marathi film in the future after his first directorial venture 'Jeta', the actor says Marathi cinema needs a good distribution network. Only a handful of films are marketed well. The industry requires a strategic distribution policy. I dont have an idea of how it can come through, but if successful producers-distributors get together, it might be feasible, says Ajinkya.
Talking about his star parents Ajinkya says his actor-father Ramesh Deos energy and enthusiasm about cinema has influenced him a lot. Dads passion for cinema is something that I have always adored. My mom landed in films by chance but my father is really passionate about acting. In fact, I am an actor today only because my dad dreamt that I would become one, otherwise I was averse to even facing the camera. I remember as a child, when I would travel with my parents my dad would get mobbed by crowds. I used to hate that as it meant losing out on my time with him. Of course with age I outgrew the thought, he smiles.
