Vinayakan's debut movie is Mohanlal's Manthrikam

Actor Vinayakan is now one of the promising actors of Mollywood. Majority never know that the actor debuted in Mollywood through Mohanlal movie Manthrikam that was released 24 years back.
Recollecting on how Vinayakan got into movie, the scribe of Manthrikam, Babu Pallassery says, "One night, while I was writing the script sitting at the flat in KK Nagar, Lal Jose came to me.He told, there is a guy whom he knows from Kammattipadam who dances really well and gives perfect moves like Michel Jackson. He asked me if I could give him a role in the film. Vinayakan was with him and when I saw him, I was really shocked. He had curly hair like Michel Jackson and used to move, walk and sit dancing like Michel jackson. It was in his head; his every move was of MJ."
Forseeing his talent, Babu Pallassery took him to Thampi Kannanthanam, director of Manthrikam. "While walking to his home, throughout he made dance moves and peopel were perplexed to see someone, back then. dancing on the road. When Thampichayan met him, we sat for a while and thought on how to include him in the film. Finally, we decided to put him in the circus team. Mohanlal liked him very much when he saw him on the sets and he said, let’s support him by giving him space to perform in the Dhim Dhim Dheemi Dheemi song. That's how Vinayakan entered to the world of cinema,"he explains.
