Weekend OTT picks: ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’ to ‘Single’: South films to stream online

From romantic comedies to superhero-inspired campus chaos and heartfelt dramas, this weekend’s OTT lineup has something for every South cinema lover. Whether you're looking to laugh, swoon, or dive into an emotional sports story, here are four South Indian films you can enjoy from the comfort of your home.

2/5

‘Single’

Sree Vishnu's ‘Single’, a romantic comedy directed by Caarthick Raju, is now on Prime Video after a successful theatrical run. The story follows Vijay, a bank employee desperately trying to escape singlehood. He falls head-over-heels for Purva (Ketika Sharma) and even fakes a heroic rescue to impress her. But the plan goes hilariously wrong when another girl, Harini (Ivana), falls for him instead. With laugh-out-loud moments and awkward romance, Single is a breezy pick for rom-com fans. The film is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.

3/5

‘Padakkalam’

Debutant Manu Swaraj’s ‘Padakkalam’ stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, and Sandeep Pradeep in a wacky story centered around a group of superhero-obsessed college students. Their routine lives are disrupted by the arrival of a “cool” professor Ranjith, who turns their world upside down. Mixing absurd humor with satire, the film celebrates nerd culture and campus eccentricities in a uniquely Malayalam way. The film will start streaming from June 10 on Disney+ Hotstar.

4/5

‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’

Directed by Khalid Rahman, ‘Alappuzha Gymkhana’ makes its digital debut on Sony LIV. Helmed by Khalid Rahman, the film tells a grounded yet inspiring tale rooted in the world of local sports. With its emotional storytelling and authentic characters, it adds depth and realism to the genre, making it a must-watch for drama lovers. The movie received decent reviews and turned out to be a superhit.

5/5

‘Patth’

‘Patth’, which premiered at the Kerala Film Festival to critical acclaim, finally lands on OTT. While details about the plot remain tightly under wraps, the film is said to explore intense human emotions and conflict through a thought-provoking narrative. If you’re someone who appreciates layered storytelling and nuanced performances, Patth promises a compelling watch. The film will start streaming from June 6 on Manorama Max.
