TV stars Devika Nambiar and Vijay Madhav welcome baby girl

Popular Malayalam television personalities Devika Nambiar and Vijay Madhav are celebrating the arrival of their second child, a baby girl. The couple, who welcomed their first child, a son named Atmaja Mahadev, a couple of years ago, shared their joy with fans through social media. Devika gave birth to a baby girl on January 30, as Vijay announced through a video. The baby was born at PRS Hospital.

Devika and Vijay had initially planned to document their pregnancy journey through vlogs, but those plans were disrupted when Devika went into labour early and experienced childbirth complications.

Vijay and Devika are overjoyed with the arrival of their daughter. Vijay has even posted a video of himself returning home from the hospital with his newborn.

The name, which resembles a mantra, has drawn considerable criticism since its announcement. While a small number of comments supported their choice, the majority expressed disapproval. Many comments criticized the couple, suggesting they were mocking their child. Some questioned what the child would think when she grew up and predicted she would change it herself.

The couple's first child, Atmaja Mahadev, has a name that holds special meaning to them. Vijay has clarified that while Atmaja is often thought of as a feminine name, they intend for it to be pronounced with an emphasis on the first syllable (Atmaja), not Atmaje. They even opened a school in the capital city called Atmaja Centre in honor of their son.

Now, with the arrival of their daughter, Vijay and Devika have once again chosen a unique name: Om Paramatma. The couple had already chosen the name before their daughter was born and have officially registered it.
