Sonia Mann, who debuts in Mollywood with Shamsudeen Jahangir’s Teens, is getting busy in tinsel town. The Punjabi actress has just finished shooting for her first English movie, Vidé, where she will be seen essaying the role of Isabella, a jazz singer.
“The film is about a blind musician who falls in love with the singer,” says Sonia.
Debutant Karthikey, a Kashmir-based poetry writer, plays the blind musician. “The story takes place in the 1960s and traces the life of a young, struggling musician. When he loses his eyesight in an accident, he slowly gains what he always desired — fame, acceptance, love and wealth. But once he gets back his vision, he suddenly realises how different life was in darkness. Whatever he gained in blindness, he slowly starts to lose post the surgery,” says Manoj. Vidé is a musical and will be screened at film festivals from this year.
Meanwhile, Sonia has her kitty full. While she is awaiting the release of Teens, where she plays an NRI student, her Bollywood movie, Kahi Tho Hai Mera Pyar with
Sanjay Kapoor, and the Punjabi movie, Hanni, opposite
Harbhajan Mann, are also round the corner.
