Shah Rukh Khan should be doing this project next, here are the reasons why

Since the year 2019, there have been talks about the Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan collaborating with the renowned Malayalam film director Aashiq Abu for a movie. The buzz started when a selfie picture of Shahrukh Khan with Aashiq Abu and writer Syam Pushkaran went viral. Though the selfie picture was posted on the Instagram handle of the director Aashiq Abu itself, there was no mention of them doing a film with SRK. However, the picture created a huge buzz on social media. Recently there was an update on the same saying that Srk has actually agreed to work with them if he likes the script. Maybe Aashiq Abu doing a film with Srk is a long shot, but here let’s discuss some reasons why it would work wonders if the star join hands with Aashiq Abu under the script of Syam Pushkaran.

It’s an undeniable fact that Shahrukh has the top brand value among other stars. The numerous advertisements that he has done in the past and is still doing, are the supreme examples to show that he has a huge brand value. But recently, he himself has admitted in most of his interviews that the films that he signed for the past few years haven’t worked well and that has seriously started affecting his brand value. He also added by saying that from now on he needs to get a kickstart in his career and he will put utmost care in choosing scripts from now on. This is the exact point where the necessity for doing a film with the renowned director Aashiq Abu under the script of the most brilliant writer in the Malayalam film industry Syam Pushkaran. The track record of these two filmmakers is enough to prove that a movie with them could be a kickstart in Srk’s career

He has a huge list of both critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies in his filmography such as ‘Salt & Pepper’, ‘Mayanadi’, ’22 Female Kottayam’, ‘Virus’ etc. What makes Aashiq Abu different from other directors is his flexibility in handling any kind of genre, whether it is comedy, thriller, or a social commentary one. He is a writer who is truly gifted with the ability to craft perfect characters weaved into a perfect storyline. He also has created some of the unique and iconic dialogues which have later become memes too.

Gone are the days when the audience clapped for mindless action flicks and brainless comedy films. People all over the world are now looking for films that have good content. The immense praise for Malayalam films recently is one of the reasons why the audience loves good content. In Bollywood too the audience has actually started trolling those films which are mindless flicks and have started loving films with good content. Bollywood actor Srk has a special place in every Malayali’s heart. Their affection towards SRK was clearly evident from the immense love he got when he visited Kerala several times for award functions and inaugurations. Every time a Malayali thinks of the song ‘Punchiri thanchi Konchikko’ from the film ‘Dil Se’, it’s SRK’s face that comes to their mind as the song was completely shot in Kerala. The fanbase that Srk has in Kerala can also be a positive factor if he does a film with Malayalam filmmakers.
