Apparently, a set of forest officials are of the opinion that the film Pulimurukan, which shows forest officials in a poor light, is the reason why they are facing hostility from different quarters. The officials allege that they are facing threats and need police protection to venture out.
According to the officials, the film which showcases a man killing a tiger which had eluded forest officials is anti-conservation, especially in areas like Wayanad, where man-animal conflicts are more.
The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (WWS) warden has shot off a letter to the chief wildlife warden seeking protection to forest staff, who are facing violent attacks and unprecedented hostilities from asection of locals in the district.
