According to The News Minute, Anirudhan and Mathew assert that they are the original creators of the characters and claim the production house failed to seek their consent before planning to expand the 'Minnal Murali' universe. This expansion reportedly includes spin-off projects and merchandise, which they argue violate their rights.


The dispute intensified when the production company announced a new film, 'Detective Ujjwalan', starring Dhyan Sreenivasan. The film is speculated to be part of a larger cinematic universe tied to 'Minnal Murali'. Additionally, a children's comic book featuring the superhero character was previously released, further aggravating the writers.
