‘Patriot’: Mohanlal drops the behind-the-scenes video; Fahadh Faasil flies a fighter jet!

Mammootty and Mohanlal starrer ‘Patriot’ is gearing up for release on April 23, and the makers have now dropped a behind-the-scenes from its Sri Lankan schedule. The film brings back the superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal together in a full-fledged role, after 18 years, and the anticipation is skyrocketing.

The BTS video shows glimpses of the superstars along with actor Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban. Fahadh Faasil is seen sitting in the cockpit of a fighter jet, while Kunchacko Boban walks into the frame in the garb of a pilot. Filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan seems unswayed despite handling an ensemble cast and a huge crew.

What you should know about ‘Patriot’?

‘Patriot’ is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, best known for his works ‘Take Off’, ‘C U Soon’, and ‘Ariyippu’. The film is expected to be a thriller.

‘Patriot’ also marks Mammootty and Mohanlal’s reunion for lead roles after almost 18 years. Their last film together was ‘Twenty:20’, which was released in 2008. Talking about casting them, the director earlier said, “I didn’t cast them just because they are stars. I approached them because those actors were right for the story I wanted to tell. They, too, come to the set as dedicated artists.”

Superstar Nayanthara, and actors Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Darshana Rajendran, Revathy, and Zarin Shihab are also part of the cast.

Recently, Fahadh Faasil revealed that he plays the antagonist in the film. “I play the villain in Patriot,” he said.

The team wrapped up the shoot on January 4. “That’s a wrap. Blood, sweat, belief. #PATRIOT marches on. See you on the Big screen," the makers said. Mohanlal completed dubbing his portions of the film recently.
