‘Patriot’: Mammootty and Mohanlal starrer to unveil characters, makers share update

Superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty are reuniting on the silver screen for the upcoming film ‘Patriot’. The makers dropped the title teaser last year. Today, the makers have dropped yet another update.

On Saturday, January 24, the team confirmed that they will be introducing the characters starting tomorrow. The makers are going to drop the character posters on Sunday, January 25! “Unveiling The Characters from Tomorrow! Stay Tuned,” they said in a post shared on Instagram.

All about ‘Patriot’

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan, ‘Patriot’ marks Mammootty and Mohanlal’s reunion in fully-fledged roles, after almost 18 years. Their last film together was ‘Twenty:20’ released in 2008. Though they have made cameo appearances in each other’s films, the audience has been eagerly waiting to catch them on the big screen in lead roles.




Besides Mammootty and Mohanlal, ‘Patriot’ has a star-studded ensemble, including Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, and Kunchacko Boban. Actors Darshana Rajendran, Revathy, and Zarin Shihab are also part of the cast.

The team wrapped up the shoot on January 2, and the film has now gone into post-production.

On the technical front, Manush Nandan ISC has roped in as the Director of Photography. The director and Rahul Radhakrishnan are in charge of the editing. The production design is done by Shajie Naduvil and Jibin Jacob.

The makers had earlier dropped the teaser; however, it didn’t give away much about the plot, but it, hinted that a high-octane gripping tale with political undertones is underway.

The teaser opens with a voiceover that says, “I remember there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over these years, what they earned wasn't just followers. Faith. Trust." It’s followed by Mammootty’s dialogue, “They are going to bring social score to people."

Later, Mohanlal appears in the garb of an army personnel. “There are three of us. Do you think you can stop us?" he says.
