'Patriot' box office collection day 10: Mammootty-Mohanlal film holds steady; Earns Rs 90 lakh

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, 'Patriot' arrived in theatres with tremendous expectations. The film generated strong pre-release buzz as it brought together two of Malayalam cinema's biggest icons, Mammootty and Mohanlal after a long gap.

Despite the star power and the promising premise, the action film has received a mixed response from audiences.

Day 10 collection for 'Patriot' remains unchanged

The film's earnings remained stable on its second Sunday. According to Sacnilk, 'Patriot' collected Rs 90 lakhs net in India on Day 10.






Although the collection did not increase the steady numbers suggest that the movie continues to attract a section of the audience. However the overall trend indicates that the film's momentum has slowed significantly compared to its opening week.

'Patriot' earned Rs 26.98 crore during its first week in India. On Day 8, which was the second Friday, the film collected Rs 63 lakhs.

Collections improved on Day 9, the second Saturday, when the movie earned Rs 90 lakhs.

The same amount was recorded on Day 10, the second Sunday. With this, the film's total India net collection has climbed to Rs 29.41 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 34.15 crore.

Overseas performance of 'Patriot'

'Patriot' has performed better in international markets. The film has grossed Rs 41 crore overseas.

Thanks to this overseas support, the film's total worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 75.15 crore.

'Patriot' is a gripping spy thriller centered on a dangerous surveillance conspiracy. The story revolves around Periscope, a spyware system used to monitor ordinary citizens. The software is distributed by a company owned by a minister's son. Senior government official Daniel James begins a high-risk mission to uncover the truth and stop a looming national security crisis.

ETimes gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, and our review read, "Fahadh Faasil is in his element as Shakthi Sundaram. Kunchacko Boban is great as Michael Devassy. These characters are all intertwined; there are mutual sentiments, and at the same time, many calculations that stand above everything. When Fahadh’s character says that what they had built is not followers but faith, it rings true for both the characters and the actors. In fact, their interactions carry an undercurrent of real-life conversations. Was it absolutely necessary? Did it work? Very well. What could be called morbid talk is layered with a good deal of philosophy, just before a thrilling car chase. Towards the end, the screenplay get a little messy before it settles, just like in the beginning."
