Director Hafiz Ismail’s Oru Soappetty Katha has an interesting tagline - everything cliché. The debutant director’s film will depict the subtle nuances of relationships and its complexities in life. “In the story, we compare relationships with a soap box. The soap and the soapbox are incomplete without each other. Similarly, a person is also incomplete without friendship,” says scriptwriter Arun Govindankutty.
So what about the peculiar tagline? “As the tagline suggests, the movie is not about an extraordinary tale. It is a simple, clichéd tale taken in a peculiar way. The storytelling makes all the difference here,” he says. Oru Soappetty Katha will go on floors in November.
