Kannan Thamarakkulam’s Maradu 357 will also star a few of the real-life residents of the demolished Maradu flats. The filmmaker, who finished shooting the movie a few weeks before the lockdown was announced, tells us, “The film tells their story and the aftermath of the demolition of their flats, and we have quite of a few of them starring in it. This also includes Jayakumar, who was a secretary of one of the flats and was active in the protests.
He will be seen in a pivotal role in the movie.”
Apart from them, Maradu 357 also has Dharmajan, who plays a security guard, and Manoj K Jayan and Baiju Santosh, who play residents. “Senthil Krishna has a poignant role in the movie and
Anoop Menon’s character of a man who delivers bottled water to the residents, adds to its suspense elements. The film is not just about the Maradu flat demolition as it also touches on other illegal activities in the society and is a thriller of sorts,” says the filmmaker.
The team is currently working on the post-production of the film. “We have given a request to start dubbing and if it gets sanctioned, we are hoping to start work in a week’s time,” says Kannan.
