Recently the director Tinu Pappachan, who has worked as an assistant director for Lijo Jose Pellissery’s films ‘Angamaly Diaries’, ‘Jallikattu’, opened up about the film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ during an interview with an online media channel. Tinu Pappachan said that the film was given a Tamil title because the majority of the story is happening in Tamil Nadu, specifically in Palani. The title ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ means ‘Sleeping during noon hours ’.

Actor Ashokan was last seen sharing screen space with Mammootty for the film ‘Amaram’ which was released in the year 1991 and was directed by Bharathan. After a long gap of 30 years, Ashokan will be seen together with Mammootty for the film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, playing a major role. Actor Ashokan shared his excitement about working with Mammootty after a long gap, during an interview with an online media channel.

When the makers of ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ released the location stills from the movie, a debate was kick-started among the netizens who were all speculating on a possible plotline. According to the sources, Mammootty will be playing the role of a thief named Velan who is also a cycle mechanic. In the location pictures, Mammootty was seen in a curly hairdo coupled with a shirt and dhoti. Although this plot is not officially announced by the makers, the excitement level of the audience has soared high after hearing this possible plotline.

The cinematography of the Mammootty- Lijo Jose Pellisserry’s ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ will be helmed by Theni Eswar who is best known for his works in the Tamil films ‘Peranbu’ and ‘Karnan’. Mammootty got a wide appreciation for playing the role of Amudhavan in the Tamil film ‘Peranbu’.
