Mammootty to play the politician Mathew Devassy in Jeo Baby’s ‘Kaathal - The Core’

Netizens were indeed confused when the pictures of Mammootty’s banner as a left-wing independent political candidate started circulating on social media. It all came to a clearer picture when they noticed the name written under the banner ‘Mathew Devassy’. Turns out that it's the character look poster for Mammootty - Jeo Baby’s upcoming movie ‘Kaathal - The Core’.

Mammootty will be playing the left-wing political party candidate named Mathew Devassy who is representing Theekkoyi Grama Panchayat in Jeo Baby’s ‘Kaathal - The Core’. From the character poster it can be confirmed that the film will be dealing with politics or may have some elements of it coupled with romance, hence the name ‘Kaathal - The Core’.

Actress Jyotika will be playing the female lead in ‘Kaathal - The Core’ and recently the actress joined the sets and the pictures also went viral on social media. With the film, Jyotika will be making her second entry into the Malayalam film industry after a long gap of 12 years. Jyotika previously played a pivotal role in the Malayalam movie ‘Seetha Kalyanam’ which was directed by TK Rajeev Kumar.

Helmed by the renowned filmmaker Jeo Baby, ‘Kaathal - The Core’ is touted to be a family drama. The script of this Mammootty starrer is penned by the writers Adarsh Sukumaran, and Paulson Skaria. Salu K Thomas is roped in as the cinematographer and the editing section will be handled by Francies Louis. Mathews Pulickan is the music composer for ‘Kaathal - The Core’ and the art department is handled by Shajie Naduvil.
