Mammootty took to his official Facebook handle and posted a picture of Cochin Haneefa in remembrance on his 12th death anniversary.
Sharing a picture of Cochin Haneefa, actor Mammootty penned a note that read, “Ormappookkal.” Soon the post was flooded with comments from fans and movie buffs who were all saying that the legendary actor Cochin Haneefa is still living through the memorable characters that he has played.
Actor Mammootty has shared screen space with Cochin Haneefa for several movies such as, ‘Dubai’, ‘Rajamanikyam’, ‘No. 20 Madras Mail’, ‘Thuruppugulan’ and ‘Harikrishnans’. Cochin Haneefa has also directed the classic Mammootty starrer film ‘Vatsalyam’ which was released in the year 1993 and the script was penned down by the veteran writer A.K Lohithadas.

Making his acting debut in the 1972 film ‘Azhimukham’ directed by Vijayan, actor Cochin Haneefa played several notable roles in several films. Cochin Haneefa started his acting by playing negative roles and later he got much attention from the audience when he took to play comedy roles. His notable films include ‘Punjabi House’, ‘CID Moosa’, ‘Pulival Kalyanam’, ‘Kunjikoonan’, ‘Ee Parakkum Thalika’ and ‘Meesa Madhavan’. He has also played major roles in over 80 Tamil films and lastly, he was seen in Shankar’s big-budget film ‘Enthiran’.
