Malayalam actor-producer Maniyanpillai Raju is allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident occurred on Thursday night, February 5, 2026, when the actor’s car allegedly knocked down a two-wheeler and fled the scene. Two people were injured and later admitted to the hospital.
The accident occurred around 9:30 pm when the actor was exiting the Trivandrum Club at Vazhuthacaud, according to the police. The injured have been identified as Sooraj (20) and Nivedith Krishna (20), both residents of Thiruvananthapuram. One man sustained fractures to his left leg and shoulder, while the other suffered injuries to his head and legs. They were rushed to a private hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
A case has been registered in connection with the accident, according to the Museum police, The Hindu reported. The actor is suspected to have been driving the car at the time of the incident and allegedly fled the scene without stopping to check the injured, the police stated. The police have registered a case under Sections 281 (rash or negligent driving on a public way endangering human life) and 125(a) (endangering the life or personal safety of others, with potential imprisonment for hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 134(A) and 134(B) of the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is going on, and the actor will appear before the police this morning, February 6.
Maniyanpilla Raju’s car too sustained damage. The police have recovered a detached number plate and damaged bumper parts from the spot.
