‘Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra’ OTT release date CONFIRMED: When and where to watch Kalyani Priyadarshan’s film
Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ is finally ready to take its magic from the big screen to your living room. After creating a storm at the box office and rewriting records in Kerala’s film history, this fantasy-action blockbuster is all set to premiere digitally. For those who missed catching it in cinemas, the makers have finally confirmed its OTT release date.
The streaming platform also released a new poster celebrating the film’s success, confirming that it has become the highest-grossing film in Kerala’s history, crossing the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide. Fans across India and abroad can soon experience this visual spectacle from the comfort of their homes.
The movie will be available in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Bengali, ensuring that audiences from different regions can enjoy it.
It further adds, “From the leads to the guest stars to the supporting actors, the cast is unanimously solid, be it a wonderful Sandy as the ruthless cop Nachiyappa or Vijayaraghavan. When the latter narrates Chandra’s origin story to a little girl, his narration of the tale plays an equal role in the impact of the sequence as the haunting visuals onscreen. In a role that's a far cry from her previous roles, Kalyani manages to bring out the soul and humanity in the larger-than-life Chandra. As for Naslen, not a single line that he utters comes across as rehearsed. He delivers the most basic lines with perfect timing and commendable spontaneity.”
The second installment of the franchise is in the making. Announced in September 2025, the sequel continues the emerging cinematic universe started by the original. The second part will feature Tovino Thomas in the lead. Recently the makers shared the teaser for the second part of 'Lokah'. Meanwhile Kalyani Priyadarshan was also seen in the recent film 'Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira'. The movie received mixed reviews.

The Times of India gave the movie 3.5/5 stars, the review states, “Director Dominic Arun, who previously helmed Tharangam, along with co-writer Santhy Balachandran, creates a world that mixes the tale of immortals with age-old folklore. Weaving folklore into the narrative or naming their protagonists Sunny and Chandra may seem too simple or direct of a symbolism. But these choices also make the film seem more grounded. Therefore, the opening quote with which the film starts – All legends have an element of truth – carries an added weight.”The second installment of the franchise is in the making.
