Starting small by playing humorous roles, Suraj Venjaramoodu has never failed to challenge the performer in him by taking up serious roles in films. His recent outing as a tough police character in ‘Jana Gana Mana’ and his comedy police character in ‘Pokkiri Raja’ are simply two extends that the actor pulls off so easily and convincingly. Today, as Suraj Venjaramoodu is turning a year older, let's take a look at the reasons why he is one of the versatile actors in Mollywood.

The most difficult task for an actor is to pull off a good comedy that could make the audience laugh out loud. Mollywood actor Suraj Venjaramoodu shines in that area as he has been a master at delivering comedies for several films. His character Dashamoolam Daamu in ‘Chattambi Naadu’ has indeed gained much popularity among netizens and the character even became more likable than the movie itself. It has also been announced that ‘Dashamoolam Daamu’ will be getting a standalone movie which will be directed by ‘Android Kunjappan’ fame Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval.

The Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Action Hero Biju’ was one of the films that brought out the performer in Suraj Venjaramoodu. The actor’s serious and emotional role came out as a surprise for the audience as he was mostly seen in comedy roles before. There is a magnificent shot in the film where Suraj Venjaramoodu’s father character is told that he is not the real father of his daughter. The amount of precision and nuance that the actor uses to convey that particular emotion is so brilliant that it literally sends chills down our spine.

Let it be a fruitful youngster or an old man as in the film ‘Android Kunjappan’, the age of the character doesn’t matter for a performer like Suraj Venjaramoodu. His rendering of every character is so genuine and convincing. For example, his old man role in ‘Android Kunjappan’ is literally a study book on how a middle-aged actor should perform such kinds of characters. His role in the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Kaanekkane’ and the award winning film 'Perariyathavar' are also worth mentioning.
