The Hindu festival falls on Purnima Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan, and the day is celebrated across the country with great zeal and enthusiasm. The sisters tie Rakhi on their brother’s wrist, and the brothers in turn give presents to their sisters as a token of their love and respect.
