Mamitha Bajiu has over a dozen films to her credit, but for the Malayali audience, she is Sona, the feisty young girl from ‘Super Sharanya’. The 2022 release helmed by Girish AD, definitely made her a familiar face amongst the movie buffs. Mamitha Baiju is back with the same team, this time as the lead actor, alongside Naslen. ‘Premalu’ directed by Girish AD, featuring Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles will hit the big screens this Friday, February 9. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Mamitha Baiju spills the beans about her film ‘Premalu’.“I play Reenu, a rookie IT professional in ‘Premalu’. Though there are situational comedies, Reenu is quite different from Sona (Super Sharanya),” Mamitha Baiju shared. Mamitha Baiju also tells us that the character she plays in ‘Premalu’ is quite relatable for her, “Sona has definitely influenced me, but it's with Reenu, whom I align more. Of the roles I have played so far, Reenu is similar to me in more ways than one.”So, is it the relatability factor that attracted her to the project? “That, and also the fact that I get to work with Girish chettan (director) again. He narrated me the story once he completed the first draft, and I was immediately impressed.
The script is awesome," she answers.
