'Drishyam 3' star Mohanlal joins hands with Dileesh Pothan; Antony Perumbavoor confirms new film

Finally, if everything goes as planned, Malayalam audiences will get to witness a Mohanlal starrer with the title card reading, “Directed by Dileesh Pothan.”


As a filmmaker, Dileesh Pothan has delivered acclaimed titles such as 'Maheshinte Prathikaaram', 'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum', and 'Joji' and all of these films were appreciated for their rooted storytelling and execution.

Antony Perumbavoor confirms the project

Reports about a Mohanlal–Dileesh Pothan collaboration had been circulating for some time. The project has now been officially confirmed by producer Antony Perumbavoor.

Shibu Baby John produces; Asif Ali reportedly on board

Reports say that the upcoming film will be produced by Shibu Baby John. Reports also suggest that Asif Ali will play a significant role alongside Mohanlal.

If confirmed, the combination of Mohanlal, Dileesh Pothan, and Asif Ali will be something audiences have never witnessed before, and an official confirmation is awaited.

Mohanlal busy with 'Athimanoharam

Mohanlal is currently shooting for Athimanoharam, directed by Tharun Moorthy who is best known for the superhit film 'Thudarum'.

In 'Athimanoharam', Mohanlal plays a police officer and the first look poster was unveiled recently by the makers.

'Drishyam 3' to release next

The next Mohanlal release will be 'Drishyam 3', directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 21 and expectations are high. Meanwhile, Mohanlal recently teamed up with Mahesh Narayanan for the Mammootty starrer action thriller 'Patriot' which received mixed reviews from the audiences.

According to the latest reports from Sacnilk, 'Patriot' is inching slowly towards Rs 80 cr worldwide collections, which is not quite impressive, considering the huge star cast involved. The movie featured Mohanlal, Mammootty, Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Darshana Rajendran in pivotal roles.
