‘Drishyam 3’ release: Jeethu Joseph clarifies timeline; No simultaneous release for Mohanlal and Ajay Devgn versions - Reports
Director Jeethu Joseph has reportedly addressed the speculation surrounding the release strategy of 'Drishyam 3'. This comes at a time when social media discussions suggested that the Malayalam and Hindi versions might hit theatres simultaneously.
A chat between Jeethu and a fan has been going viral where an Instagram user asked, “Just heard Panorama Studios acquired theatrical rights of our Drishyam 3.... So sir are they planning for a simultaneous release.” To this, Jeethu allegedly replied, “No.. we will release first after 2 months only they can release.” Although the authenticity of the screenshot is still not officially verified, the conversation has taken over fan pages and discussion threads.
Earlier in an interview with Pinkvilla, Jeethu Joseph had also acknowledged that the makers of the Hindi and Telugu versions wanted a joint release across regions. “The makers of the Hindi and Telugu versions have asked whether we can release the film simultaneously,” he shared.
The final decision now confirms a clear gap: the Malayalam version will release first, and the Hindi and Telugu adaptations will arrive two months later.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal made a surprise appearance on the sets of his daughter Vismaya’s debut film, Thudakkam. Reports say that the superstar will be having a cameo role in the movie, although it's not officially confirmed.
Videos shared by fan pages on Twitter show the superstar visiting the shooting location in Kuttikkanam. The actor is currently juggling two tight schedules, morning shoots for Thudakkam and night sessions for Drishyam 3, both happening in the Idukki district, as per the reports.
On the other hand, Jeethu Joseph's previous directorial venture was the Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali starrer 'Mirage' which received mixed reviews.
