Dr Biju speaks out against IFFK

Amidst controversies over director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan withdrawing his film Sexy Durga from the IFFK, Dr Biju has made his views clear.
The director, whose films have always been acclaimed in festivals, says that it is high time the IFFK authorities realised that it is not one of the aims of IFFK to screen commercial films. The Malayalam Cinema Today section is meant for films which are capable of going for international festivals.Those which are already released will not be considered in those festivals. The jury should know all these rules, he writes.
At the same time, Dr Biju salutes the IFFK's decision to include two Malayalam films Eden by Sanju Surendran and Randu Per by Prem Shankar in the Competition Section.
