Seems like foreign locations are a must-have in
Dileep films of late. After shooting in New Zealand for Life of Josutty, Canada for Two Countries and Dubai for King Liar, the actor will head to Russia in August for his upcoming movie Welcome to Central Jail.
Its scriptwriter Benny P Nayarambalam tells us, 'A skeleton crew of seven will head to Russia by the end of this month.
Dileep and
Vedhika will join the team on August 2.'
The plan, he says, is to shoot two songs in the city of Saint Petersburg over a period of one week. 'Only very few Malayalam songs have been shot in Russia. So, we will be trying to capture the splendour of the city as much as we can,' he says.
Incidentally, the previous film to be shot in Russia was
Lal Jose's NeeNa last year. 'We had approached Lal first when the plan came up and he put us in touch with a co-ordinator in Russia,' says Benny, who had worked with the director in Chanthupottu and Spanish Masala.
Welcome to Central Jail, which is directed by Sunder Das, has Dileep playing a prisoner while Vedhika is a photographer.
