Dhanush as frontman; Fahadh Faasil as player no 456: What if ‘Squid Game’ was made in the South? Check it out!

Finally, the nail-biting cliffhangerin season 2 of ‘Squid Game’ is getting a continuation as the 3rd season for the most-awaited series is about to drop on this day (June 27). ‘Squid Game’ has always been an interesting watch for the audience, mainly due to its magnificent concept and, of course, the thrilling games! Ever wondered what this thrilling series would look like if it were made in the South?

While ‘Squid Game’ season 3 will drop today, let’s take a look at what if the series were made with South actors with a whole lot of change in its setting.

2/6

A whole new setting

A young guy from a middle-class family, doing his boring 9-5 corporate job, suddenly finds a stranger in the railway station who offers him to play a game of ‘Pakida,’ and once he wins, he will be taken into the game. Well, the plot is ready now for the ‘Squid Games’ south version.

While the inner game setting would look futuristic, there could be some symbols all over the walls or some items that can represent the Indian style. Compared to the colorful setting of the original ‘Squid Game,’ the Indian version could be a little more raw in color tone.

3/6

Fahadh Faasil as Seong Gi-Hun

Who else is better than the versatile South Star Fahadh Faasil, who can play the lead character Seong Gi-Hun in ‘Squid Games’? The original actor, Lee Jung-Jae, has a controlled level of acting with minimalism, which adds a charming touch to his performance, and this is one main aspect of why Fahadh Faasil could be the lead in the Indian version of ‘Squid Games.’

4/6

SJ Suryah as The Salesman

It’s a known fact that the south star SJ Suryah has got a different style when it comes to breathing life into heroic or villain roles. Coming to the Indian version of ‘Squid Games,’ the intense character, the psycho salesman character, would be perfect for SJ Suryah, and his stunning performance in Mahesh Babu’s ‘Spyder’ shows why.

5/6

Dhanush as Front Man

Dhanush could well suit the villain, Front Man, in the South version of ‘Squid Games.’ Dhanush knows how to portray any character with a unique style on screen, and imagine if he is given a sadist character who loves to watch people getting tortured while playing games? This could be an iconic one for the South superstar.

6/6

A big change in games

Apart from the characters and setting, a big change in the Indian version would surely be the games. The following could be the game changers in the South version:

Kallangal (Stone Toss): A game like lagori/pitthu (stacked stones knocked down and rebuilt) could test precision and teamwork, with lethal consequences for failure.

Kite-Cutting: A tense rooftop game inspired by kite-flying festivals, where players must cut opponents’ strings while avoiding deadly traps.

Kolam Challenge: Instead of Dalgona candy, players might carve intricate kolam (rangoli) patterns under time pressure, with shaky hands leading to elimination.

Kabaddi Raid: A high-stakes kabaddi match where losing players face brutal penalties.
