Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan is all set to begin a new journey in Malayalam cinema. The young actor, who impressed many people with his performances in ‘Qala’ and the web-series ‘The Railway Men’, will now make his Malayalam film debut with a new project directed by
Babu Janardhanan.
Film launch planned in Kochi
As per Cinema Express, the movie is planned to launch on May 9 with a pooja ceremony in Kochi. The announcement has already created excitement among movie lovers. Many fans are happy to see Babil stepping into a new film industry and trying different kinds of roles.
Cast of the project
The upcoming movie has a big supporting cast along with Babil Khan. Actress Aparna Balamurali will play an important role in the film. Actors Deepak Parambol, Nikhil Nair, Johny Antony, Jagadish, Sudheer Karamana, Unni Raja, Athmiya and Jayashankar are also part of the project.
The technical team includes Fazil Nazer handling cinematography, while Sooraj ES is the editor. The music for the film will be composed by Nandhagopan V.
Babu Janardhanan is known for writing several popular Malayalam films over the years. Some of his well-known works include ‘Varnapakittu’, ‘Achanurangatha Veedu’, ‘Vasthavam’, ‘Thalappavu’ and ‘City of God’.
He also directed films like ‘Bombay March 12’, ‘Lisammayude Veedu’ and ‘God for Sale’. His return with this new project has made many Malayalam cinema fans curious.
The makers have not yet shared the title or story details of the film. More updates about the shooting schedule and release plans are expected soon.
