'Aadu 3' character posters unveiled: Jayasurya as 'His Majesty' hints at epic time-travel plot

Jayasurya’s blockbuster film ‘Aadu’, released in 2015, is returning with its third instalment - ‘Aadu 3’. Looks like the story of the upcoming instalment is traveling in a direction that none of us expected! Perhaps the characters are time-traveling! Don’t believe us? Well, then you have to take a look at the character poster launched by the makers.

Let’s start with the lead actor - Jayasurya. The character poster features Jayasurya in the garb of a king. “His Majesty! Past Awakens!” the makers captioned, as they launched the poster. In the previous instalments, he essayed the role of Pannimattathil Shaji Pappan.

Saiju Kurup, who essayed the role of Arakkal Abu, Pappan’s friend in the franchise, is portrayed as the Commander-in-Chief! Vinayakan appears as a warrior and is introduced as the Conqueror. Remember, he played a gangster named Dude in the previous films? Indrans, who played the politician, appears as a feudal lord - The Upsurper. Vijay Babu, who was SI Sarbath Shameer in the franchise, is introduced as The Grand Architect. Sunny Wayne, who was Saathan Xavier, is now presented as the Overlord EIC. Dharmajan Bolgatty’s Sachin Cleetus is introduced as The King’s Hand!

So, what’s in the box for the audience? Only time-travel could explain these ‘past awakens’ posters shared by the makers.

‘Aadu 3’ is directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas. The original cast will be reprising their roles, and the makers wrapped up the shoot earlier this month. On January 10, Vijay Babu, who is both the actor and producer, confirmed that they have wrapped up the shoot. “9 months… 127 days of shoot… We are packed up! Our entertainment is coming… Let the fun begin!” he said, in a post shared on Instagram. Vijay Babu also announced the release date of the film. “See you in theatres on 19th March 2026,” he said.
