‘Moonnam Mura’

Before there was the Tamil film ‘Beast’, K Madhu has already familiarized the Malayali audience with the concept of a hostage situation thriller with the Mohanlal starrer film ‘Moonnam Mura’. In the film released in the year 1998, Mohanlal plays the role of an ex-police officer named Ali Imran who is on a mission to extract the hostages held in custody by a person named Charles and his group. Helmed by K Madhu, the script of ‘Moonnam Mura’ was penned down by the writer SN Swamy.

‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’

The whole CBI series started with the success of the 1988 film ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’ helmed by K Madhu, where Mammootty stepped into the shoes of the brilliant investigator Sethurama Iyer. The film follows the death of a woman named Omana and Sethurama Iyer is called upon to investigate the murder. The humongous success of the film scripted by SN Swamy led to the creation of future CBI installments.

‘Oru Abhibhashakante Case Diary’

K Madhu and SN Swamy teamed up again in the year 1995 for the crime drama film ‘Oru Abhibhashakante Case Diary’. The film sees Mammootty playing the role of an advocate named Aniyan Kuruvilla who investigates the death of a domestic help who was found dead in a pond. The film also featured the actors Jagathy Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan, Rajan P Dev, and Narendra Prasad.

‘Adhipan’

‘Adhipan’ is yet another action thriller helmed by K Madhu starring Mohanlal in the lead as the character named Prakash who is a famous criminal lawyer in the city who decides to take revenge against a person named Mohan who murdered his sister. The script was penned down by the actor Jagadish and was a humongous hit during the year 1989.

‘Irupatham Noottandu’

When K Madhu and SN Swamy decided to team up for an action thriller in the year 1987, the evergreen iconic film ‘Irupatham Noottandu’ was born. Mohanlal played the iconic character Sagar Alias Jacky who is a maverick who runs a gold smuggling racket. The background music composed by Shyam is still iconic and was also used in the reboot of the film which was directed by Amal Neerad.
