After a gap of several years, veteran filmmaker
Adoor Gopalakrishnan has announced his next project, which will be titled Pinneyum. Adoor himself will be scripting the movie, which will have
Dileep and
Kavya Madhavan in the lead roles. It will have in-depth love as the theme, the director said, without revealing more about the story. His last movie, Oru Pennum Randaanum was released in 2008, while his 2007 movie Nalu Pennungal, had Kavya in one of the important roles.
About the long gap from his last movie, the director says, “I make a movie after a long series of discussions, and once I’m done with it, I travel around the world. I can think about the next movie only after the previous one goes completely out of my system. Even after I decided on the subject for this film, I deliberated on it for a long while before making it into a movie.”
Shoot for Pinneyum will start on
May 11 at Trivandrum. Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Indrans, KPAC Lalitha and Srinda will be part of the cast, besides Marathi actor Subhod Bhave, who will be doing an important character.
