‘Aashan’ box office collection day 2: Indrans starrer faces a slight dip amid new releases

Indrans starrer ‘Aashan’, which hit the theatres this Thursday, February 5, saw a slight dip at the box office on the second day. Fresh Malayalam releases have affected the film’s box office earnings.

On Friday, February 6, which was the second day of the release, the Indrans starrer earned Rs 17 lakh, as per Sacnilk. The film had opened with Rs 22 lakh. The film’s domestic net earnings have touched Rs 39 lakh. The worldwide box office collection currently stands at Rs 44 lakh.

Though the new releases such as ‘Ashakal Aayiram’ and ‘Anomie’ have affected the earnings, ‘Aashan’ has received positive feedback from audiences, and the film is expected to regain its momentum this weekend. Indrans performance, in particular, has received a heartwarming response. The 69-year-old ventured into films as a tailor/ costume designer, later came in front of the camera playing supporting roles, mostly humorous, and eventually landed lead roles.
