Rakshapurushan

Story: The film tells the story of a police inspector named Stephen and how a case goes on to affect his professional and personal life.

Review: Rakshapurushan has the pertinent set up of the life of a policeman and shows how it gets messed up because of a case assigned to him. The story holds true in today’s times but making it an enjoyable watch on the big screen calls for a lot more than a believable premise, proves the execution.

To begin with, the writing and direction fail to pack in any energy into the style of storytelling and presentation, in a credible manner. On and off, the booming treatment of Stephen's persona and the unrelenting drama also make Rakshapurushan feel a little too jaded. Actor Deepak, who plays the lead, can carry off the role of a tough cop, looks-wise. However, both him and the rest of the cast haven't delivered much as far as performance is concerned. They leave a lot to be desired in terms of natural acting.

The film would have been a better watch if the makers could have paid better attention to its storytelling and the choice of actors.
