Mollywood has a history of turning lawyers into superstars. After Mammootty and Anoop Menon, Deepak Menon is set to follow the path with his turn as a hero in the movie titled Rakshapurushan.
Deepak is reportedly the first Supreme Court lawyer to play a hero in Mollywood through the action-thriller, which was released on May 24. The multi-lingual actor has been part of Malayalam film Minnaminnikkoottam (2008) and Hindi movies such as Bandaa (2009) and Kachrapetti (2010).
In the Kamal directorial Minnaminnikkoottam, which also had Jayasurya, Indrajith and Narain, Deepak played the role of the friend of the minister’s son.

In his latest venture Rakshapurushan, which is directed by Nalini Prabha Menon, he plays the role of the protagonist named Stephen. The film revolves around his character of an honest man, whose his life descends into chaos after he loses everything in the battle against a corrupt system.
The makers say that Deepak has been getting commendable appreciation from all quarters for his role in Rakshapurushan. The movie’s songs and trailer, which were earlier released through Zee Music, have also become popular.
