‘Drishyam 3’ makers share BTS moments of Mohanlal as Georgekutty; fans call it BLOCKBUSTER

The makers of ‘Drishyam 3’ have finally unveiled a special Behind-The-Scenes video from the much-awaited Malayalam thriller, giving fans a glimpse into the making of the next chapter in Georgekutty’s story. Featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, the film is already among the most anticipated releases of the year.The BTS clip was shared by Mohanlal himself on X, where he wrote, “#Drishyam3 – Behind The Scenes Worldwide Release | May 21st 2026.”The newly released video captures several candid moments from the sets of ‘Drishyam 3’. From Mohanlal interacting warmly with the crew to costume preparations and filming discussions, the video highlights the effort going into the third installment of the blockbuster franchise.Director Jeethu Joseph is also seen explaining scenes to the team, while producer Antony Perumbavoor appears in relaxed conversations with crew members during breaks. The behind-the-scenes footage has only increased excitement among fans eagerly waiting to watch Georgekutty return to the big screen.The teaser of ‘Drishyam 3’, released earlier, had already sparked major curiosity online. It begins by revisiting the events of the first two films, ‘Drishyam’ and ‘Drishyam 2’. While the recap of the first part is narrated by Georgekutty himself, the second part is presented through the perspective of the police officers chasing him.“I am just an ordinary man. My world is small and it comprises just my wife and my children,” Georgekutty says in the teaser. “An unwanted guest invaded our privacy, a guest who had the power to destroy my family.” A police officer’s voice later adds, “It’s like a case that is closed but will never close. Actually, it was not us who were watching him. He was the one watching us.”The film was initially expected to release on April 2 this year. However, the makers later postponed the release because of the tense situation prevailing in Gulf countries. The thriller is now officially set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 21, 2026. It has also received a U/A 13+ certification from the censor board.The film was officially launched with a traditional puja ceremony near Kochi last year. According to IANS, speaking during the launch event, director Jeethu Joseph revealed that the third installment explores Georgekutty’s life several years after the events of ‘Drishyam 2’.“The film focuses on what happens in Georgekutty’s life after four-and-a-half years. That is the crux of the story,” the filmmaker explained. Producer Antony Perumbavoor also shared that the overwhelming love for the first two films encouraged the team to continue the franchise. “The phenomenal response to the first two parts convinced us that Georgekutty’s journey had more to tell,” he stated.The ‘Drishyam’ franchise has earned cult status in Indian cinema for its gripping storytelling, layered suspense and Mohanlal’s celebrated performance as Georgekutty. Released in 2013, ‘Drishyam’ became a landmark film in Malayalam cinema and was later remade in multiple languages. Its sequel, ‘Drishyam 2’, released in 2021 and went on to receive massive appreciation from audiences across theatrical and streaming platforms alike.With ‘Drishyam 3’ now nearing release, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether Georgekutty can once again outsmart the dangers surrounding his family.
