lovers are in for a treat as the much-awaited Campus Theatre
Festival
kicks off in
namma Bengaluru
this weekend. Part of an annual feature of
Atelier Theatre Society
, which aims at providing professional space for the promotion of theatre and drama amongst youth, especially collegiate theatre societies and groups.
Showcasing the adaptation of
Franz Kafka
’s Metamorphosis, the play, Talchhat, shows the story of a small farmer family, through the eyes of a documentary filmmaker who wants to show her own perspective of this curious case that happened in a village in
Haryana. Revolving around the life of a farmer and a part-time driver who find themselves transformed into an insect, the play touches upon Kafka’s Metamorphosis, but in the present context. It raises questions related to the mental and financial suffrage of the
farmers
, fake and manipulated narratives and has the themes of bisexuality and aspirations of the rural villages of the country.
