The Wedding Party is a hilarious play based on a regular, middle-class Bengaluru wedding. The story is made up of characters we all recognize an Anglo-Indian wedding planner, a stressed out father of the bride, a conservative mother, a sexy convent educated aunt, an irritating NRI relative, an outspoken grandmother, arrogant pujari, requisite foreign guest and strange gate crashers.

However, 10 minutes into the play, the audience is let into a little secret by the father of the bride. Subsequently, we learn the father’s secret is just one of many. The pujari has a wandering eye, two gate crashers have snuck into the loo and the NRI Uncle is a pompous fellow but most importantly - where on earth is the bridegroom? And why do the musicians keep breaking out into old Hindi film songs?
The play is directed by Konarak Reddy and Kirtana Kumar, while the artistes include Felix Rayan, Nikhil Bharadwaj, Salmin Sheriff, Zui Kumar Reddy, Preetam Koilpillai, Anil Abraham, Aarti Aney, Ashwini Chakre, Tanya Issar, Alex Mathew, Rajeev Ravindranathan and Pranay Pande.
It is scheduled to take place from December 8 to 13 at Ranga Shankara, 36/2 8th Cross II Phase, JP Nagar.
