Raghu Dixit sings a patriotic number for Nimmellara Ashirvada

Last week, singer-composer Raghu Dixit was in the studio. This time, though, he was not working on one of his own compositions. Raghu was recording in the capacity of a playback singer for composer Sunaad Gowtham. The song was for the Kannada film Nimmellara Ashirvada, which has Pratik Shetty and Paayal Radhakrishna in the lead.
"Nimmelara Ashirvada has four songs, one of which is a tribute to the police force and soldiers, written by my father, Umesh Gowtham.It is a patriotic number, which I got Raghu to sing. His voice suits the kind of song and the feel it has perfectly and the song has come out quite well. We recorded at Raghu's studio in Bengaluru," says Sunaad, who normally operates out of his studio in Mangaluru and came to the city for the recording.
Raghu, meanwhile, has also been busy with his film compositions and album. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, Raghu released the first single from the album that he wrote during the pandemic lockdown, Tsunami, which he sung along with actress Samyuktha Hornad. While the album is a celebration of love, with the first a tribute to his dog Thunti, whom he lost some time ago, Raghu says that the songs are a marked departure from his folk fusion style and are more mellow, with a pop feel to them.
As composer, Raghu has been giving finishing touches to his work on the Suraj Gowda debut directorial Ninna Sannihake and the follow up to his hit work on Love Mocktail, in its sequel, Love Mocktail 2.
